Michele Placido goes over the most interesting photographic reportages of Italian crime. A camera to capture and recall some of the most famous and heinous crimes committed in Italy from the ’60s to the ’80s, a period when the photographer could get on the crime scene even before investigators and forensic. Behind the camera, professionals (such as Francesco Cito, Giovanni D’Aco, Sergio Solavaggione and Letizia Battaglia) who have worked for major agencies and for the most important weekly magazines, like Paris Match, Life Times, Epoca, l’Europeo, but also unknown photojournalist from newspapers such as La Stampa di Torino, Il Messaggero di Roma, il Mattino di Napoli or l’Ora diPalermo.
Made by Deriva Film on Fox International Channels Italy commission, Scatti di Nera, offers a new perspective of Italian crime: from the photographer’s sight the story is reviewed and re-imagined.
